Journal abbreviations


Abbreviations are frequently used in references and bibliographies, and it can be difficult to determine which journal hides behind a given abbreviation. To find a certain journal via an abbreviation, you can use a number of different techniques and resources.

Search field

You can use the search field to look for abbreviated journal titles. A search for “j mod hist”, for example, shows that the abbreviation stands for Journal of Modern History.

You can also search using truncation, for example can* anesth*.
