When will the material be available?

On January 1, 2017, the State and University Library in Aarhus and The Royal Library in Copenhagen merged. The institutions will be collectively known as the Royal Danish Library.

When the material you have ordered is ready for collection, we’ll inform you by e-mail that you can pick it up from the collection shelves. The material will remain on our shelves for seven days from the date of your e-mail, after which it will go back into the system.

The collection time for the material depends on the time you ordered it. In the following table you can see when you can expect the material to be available on the collection shelves.

Time of orderAvailable
12.00 - 24.00 12.00 the following day
24.00 - 12.00 16.00 the same day

Please note that items from the collections are not available on Saturdays. This means that if you order material after 12.00 on a Friday, you can’t collect it until 12.00 the following Monday

You can also see from the search interface when your material can be picked up from the different collection points. Please remember that the times are approximate. You can’t collect the material until you’ve been notified by e-mail.

We deal with journals and articles at specific times. When you order journals from our remote storage facility, you need to allow approximately two days for delivery.

When ordering journals, you can place an urgent order in the reading room. Here you need to allow two hours provided you order the material before 16.00.
